The April 2011 New York Bridal Market showed the romance of Rivini’s latest collection, inspired by Spring in Central Park. Soft beading, delicate sparkle and beautiful shades of ivory are present in each gown.  Silk basket weave tulles and alencon laces are some of the fabrics seen in this romantic collection for Spring 2012.

Bride Amy came to Nancy Barrus at Avenía bridal in search of a designer to create for her the perfect custom wedding gown.  Referred to Nancy by her best friend, Arianne, Amy had high hopes that Nancy could transform her vision into her ideal wedding dress.

Amy brought a picture of a gown silhouette she loved.  The pair got to work to find the perfect fabric.  As they searched through Avenía’s collection of designer lace, Nancy remembered one option she thought might be just right:  a uniquely textured lace to give Amy’s gown the intricate detail she desired.

“I knew the second I saw [the lace] that it was ‘the one’,” said Amy.

Amy’s Gown:

Chic elegance adorned Amy on her wedding day in Draper, Utah.  Amy’s final dress, a fitted, lace gown with exquisite textured detail and a charming chapel train was just what Amy wanted.  And Amy’s artistic gown was a perfect match for her summer wedding reception in the gardens of the Springville Art Museum.

“I was rather particular about the style and design of the dress but Nancy completely caught my vision. She has an artistic eye which I was really really thankful for, and unlike many others, she knows how to make a dress that brings out your best features and fits you perfectly,” said Amy.

Amy’s “do it yourself” garden wedding reception was a charming venue, with homemade desserts on the buffet.  The bride even added a more personal touch by making her own cake, doily flower centerpieces, decorations, bouquets and boutonnieres!

“I cannot even begin to tell you all of the amazing comments I received on the dress,” said Amy. “Everyone said they had never seen anything like it before, and even told some of their friends I didn’t know to come to the reception just to see the dress. I was always bummed I would never be able to afford the dress of my taste level, but you completely caught my vision and style and made the dress of a lifetime at a price we could manage. A million thanks!!!”

Our appointments with Rivini are always a highlight at Bridal Market.  As we updated in an earlier post, this year was “pure perfection- period.”

We weren’t the only ones swept off our feet by the luxury and exquisite craftsmanship of Rivini’s newest collection of wedding gowns.  Brides.com shared a raving runway review written by Amy Elliott.  This is what she had to say:

“From my seat (a Louis Ghost chair, natch) on the Alvin Ailey theater’s stage, I would have appreciated a slower pace, to really take in the craftsmanship, insanely luxurious fabrics, and hand-finishing that distinguish Rivini Gowns.  There were plentiful literal interpretations…the sheer abundance of floral-patterned French lace, and necklaces of handmade silk roses and camellias also reinforced the theme. The more oblique references to Monet’s garden were more fashion-forward, and had an organic feel…several dress bodices featured intricate, asymmetrical pleating that seemed inspired by the texture and configuration of veins on a rose petal.”

With New York Bridal Week finally here, we bring you a look into Liancarlo’s Fall 2011 bridal collection.

“While lace continues to be a strong influence for Carlos, he continues to explore achieving texture and surface interest by juxtaposing fabrics such as tulle and organza.   On this gown the all over Origami like detail makes up the skirt.  Each organza and tulle fold is individually cut and stitched on the skirt creating a gentle cascading effect,” said Liancarlo representative, Maria Fernandez.

This beautiful trumpet gown with delicate floral detailing encompasses the designer Lazoro Perez’s “garden theme” for his Fall 2011 Collection.  Perez describes his collection as “soft and romantic with a modern twist”.

Avenía Bride Wendy chose for her dress Verde, a breathtaking wedding gown by designer Junko Yoshioka.  Verde is an elegant wedding dress with an asymmetrical line accented with feminine ruffles designed in a delicate geometric pattern. The gown was a lovely match for Wendy, but was originally designed as a strapless gown.  Because of personal preferences, Wendy needed her bodice customized to include sleeves and shoulders.  This was no problem for our in-house design team.

Avenía Bridal recently partnered with local vendors including Branches and Camilla Photography for a wedding photo shoot to showcase local talent in the wedding industry.  Wedding dresses, beautiful designs, and an eye for detail all came together to create a successful event and breathtaking photos.  The dresses photographed included Rivini’s “Milena” wedding gown and “Drew”, a tea length wedding dress from the Vineyard Collection.

Rivini’s “Milena” is a bridal dress like no other, with clouds of silk organza and lovely rosette detailing.

“Drew” from the Vineyard Collection is a classy tea-length wedding dress and a fun spin on the traditional bridal gown.  Here, Danielle wears this gown with classic 40′s hair and accessories.
