Sneak Peak: Utah Valley Bride 2011

Monday, 6. December 2010 6:59

Avenía was pleased to work with Utah Valley Bride at InStudio by Kenneth Linge on the 2011 Utah Valley Bride Magazine, reaching newsstands in January.  We met up for a high-fashion photo shoot which turned out to be what Briana called “editorial perfection”.  We couldn’t agree more!

Above: “…Model, Heidi gets her inner-goddess on in this Avenía Bridal gown while co-editor, Kate, and I gush from the sidelines,” said Briana.

It was a pleasure to work with Briana, Kate, Leah and everyone at the InStudio shoot!  Look for Utah Valley Bride Magazine in stores January, 2011.

Photo Shoot: Halloween Bridals

Thursday, 28. October 2010 8:55

Avenía bridal gowns and accessories were featured in another beautiful and creative photo shoot organized by Amanda with Branches Floral.  These Halloween inspired  “Cemetery Bridals” were shot by Camilla Binks with Camilla Photography.  The images are fun, festive and absolutely beautiful!

The first gown photographed is Juno by Junko Yoshioka, a beautiful, A-line gown with a natural waist, duchess satin bodice, dramatic flounced fan at back bodice, chic chapel train, and unique satin striped organza skirt.  The gown has been paired with a short, modern veil from the Avenía boutique, a simple yet dramatic way to compliment Juno’s ruffled back.

The second gown photographed is a feminine silk, Sposa by St. Pucchi gown with delicate cap-sleeves, a beautiful, ivory lace overlay with lace and rhinestone detailing.

A special thanks to Camilla for the dramatic photos and to Branches for putting together the fun, Halloween photo shoot!

New York Notes: Incredible Designers, Incredible Event!

Monday, 25. October 2010 9:00

Highlights from Monday at Bridal Market?  Where to begin?  Monday brought visits to designers with whom we already work, visits to designers to see what is new in our bridal world, and visits to many of our favorite accessory friends to discover beautiful pieces of jewelry to add to our collection at the boutique.

Pier 94

Our appointment at Rivini was best summed up by our intern Bree – “Pure perfection.  Period.”  All of this season’s trends reflected pairings of silk organzas and tulles, hand-crafted flowers, draping and hand pleating, a touch of black and beautiful ribbon belts with crystals and pearls.  Amazing.  Our pictures don’t do the gowns justice in the least.  Look for official Rivini gown images in the future.

The Knot Magazine’s Anniversary Gala, held at the magnificent New York Public Library, was our evening event.  Beautiful scenery, bridal designers, bridal stores and lots of media awaited our arrival, as did amazing food, music and incredible sights.  This event made enduring four-inch stilettos for three hours completely worth it.  Absolutely.  And great news- The Knot magazine is now available as an IPad application.  How great is that?
