It’s so nice to begin meeting with our gown and accessory designers to see their new collections.
What a great time to be a bride! Gowns are full of femininity, details, and romance.

Yesterday was shopping in the Garment District-a full day of fabric lace and specialty suppliers! We searched for and found new treasures to be brought home and added to our extensive samples for our brides seeking a Nancy Barrus Couture custom gown creation.
Today will be full of bridal market and designer appointments.
Here, Nancy is experiencing the lace nirvana at Gelmore Lace- French lace importers to Nancy Barrus Couture as well as lines like Badgley Mischka, Rivini and all others seeking the beauty of a true French imported lace.

April 2010 7:29 Courtney came to our in-house designer and Artistic Director, Nancy Barrus, with great expectations of a uniquely beautiful wedding gown. Nancy got to work sketching Courtney’s vision, suggesting haute couture elements, and fitting the bride perfectly for her custom wedding dress. The result was an original gown that reflected Courtney’s personal style and individuality.
 Nancy Barrus Custom Couture: Courtney When asked about her experience, Courtney said that Nancy was “a dream to work with”.
Courtney recently lent her wedding gown to a girl friend, Sarah. Afterward, Courtney brought the gown back to Avenía Bridal to be fixed and rebuilt like the original. Nancy took new fabric along with fabric from the actual dress and restored the gown to its original state.
“My wedding gown is an heirloom-something to give to my daughters to wear or use pieces of,” said Courtney.
 Nancy Barrus Custom Couture: Courtney Courtney is a hairdresser at Vision Salon and Day Spa in Draper, Utah and is currently expecting a baby! She is having a little girl, due on September 21, 2010 and is excited for Nancy to custom make her daughter’s baby blessing dress.
“It looks like we’ll be clients of Nancy’s for a long, long time”, says Courtney.

March 2010 14:52 As you know, we love the arrival of new gowns at Avenía! We are thrilled to have just received Juno, a fabulous gown by New York designer Junko Yoshioka.
Juno is a beautiful A-line gown with a natural waist, duchess satin bodice, dramatic flounced fan at back bodice, chic chapel train, and unique satin striped organza skirt.

As always, Juno is available strapless or redesigned with shoulders and sleeves if preferred.

March 2010 12:42 Jenni, like most other brides, came to Avenía Bridal in search of the perfect wedding dress. What Jenni found was not only her wedding gown, but everything she needed to complete her wedding day look- gown, slip, bra, shoes, headpiece, earrings and cape.

The Gown:
Jenni chose Nora, a fit to flare lace gown with optional lace shoulders from the Vineyard Collection by Priscilla of Boston. With the help of Avenía’s Artistic Director and in-house custom designer Nancy Barrus, Jenni found the perfect complementary accessories: a delicate feather headpiece, a charming fur cape, strikingly brilliant earrings and custom lace adorned shoes. She wasn’t missing a detail.
About her wedding day, Jenni said that she felt gorgeous all day.

Jenni was married in January at Zermatt Resort in beautiful Midway, Utah. She currently works as a hairdresser for Platinum Studio, a salon in Orem, Utah with fabulous owners and stylists.
“We were thrilled to work with Jenni,” said Nancy.
